Dr. Leslie Jordan
Board-Certified Periodontist
Growing up in Columbia, SC, Dr. Leslie Jordan spent her formative years working in her father’s dental office—a trusted general dentist who served the community for over 40 years. That early hands-on exposure sparked a deep appreciation for patient care and set the foundation for a lifelong passion in the field.
After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Biological Sciences, Dr. Jordan earned her dental degree from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She completed a one-year general practice residency at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital, where she discovered her love for periodontics. That realization led her back to MUSC to pursue a residency in periodontics and a Master of Science degree. During her training, she was nationally recognized as a finalist in the Balint Orban Memorial Research Competition, and in 2022, she became a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
A Personalized Approach to Periodontal Care
Dr. Jordan believes exceptional care starts with connection. Every patient is unique—not just in their dental needs, but in their values, past experiences, and treatment goals. Her approach is centered on listening first, and then building a collaborative plan with the patient, their referring dentist, and any involved specialists.
She is especially passionate about soft tissue grafting and dental implants—procedures that can dramatically restore both function and aesthetics. Whether it’s rebuilding gum tissue or replacing a missing tooth, she finds deep purpose in helping patients regain their confidence and comfort.
Recognizing that dental treatment can often feel overwhelming, Dr. Jordan prioritizes patient comfort, education, and clear communication at every step. Her goal is to make each person feel empowered and supported throughout their care journey.
Always Learning and Leading
In a field that’s constantly evolving, Dr. Jordan is committed to staying on the leading edge. She regularly attends advanced continuing education courses to expand her clinical expertise. One of her most impactful experiences was an intensive course in Budapest with world-renowned clinician Dr. Istvan Urban, where she trained in advanced bone grafting techniques alongside colleagues from around the world.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Jordan is active in organized dentistry and community service. She currently serves as President of the South Carolina Dental Association’s Coastal District and President Elect of the South Carolina Society of Periodontists. She has also served as a board member of the SCDA and as attending faculty at MUSC, where she helped establish the Ryan White Dental Clinic to provide care to medically underserved patients.
